Introductory tips

Create tips that let the players know what they will learn in the upcoming chapters. A welcome tip is also a great way to engage players from the get-go.

  1. Create an introductory tip

game timing / phase / early game

Display this tip from games number 1 to 1

  2. Create a tip for your next chapters (for example, your next chapters start at game #21)

game timing / phase / early game

Display this tip from games number 21 to 21

  3. Repeat step 2 for the next batch of chapters, and so on.

Dynamic recurrent tips

These tips are what separates good guides from great ones. They are mandatory if you want to sell your guide. See them more as Guiding tips and less as Coaching tips. They adapt to the context of any game and give players a clear view of what they should do in a given context.

You can think of any of them, but we'll go through two examples.
